LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, August 15, 2012: In just over a month’s times, the eyes of the world’s gymnastics community will focus in on Sydney, Australia, for the 2012 Sydney International Gymnastics Festival.

Held just south of Sydney on the beautiful shores of Cronulla, Gymnastics NSW has confirmed the entries of numerous international teams, including Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the latest two editions, Turkey & Ghana.

In addition to the international guests, Cronulla will play home to gymnastics teams from interstate and from around NSW, making for quite the festival.

Gymnastics NSW Marketing Manager spoke of his excitement for the upcoming Festival. “We are all buzzing and cannot wait to host teams from around the world.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the sport outdoors and show Australia the magical sport of gymnastics.”

The Gymnastics Festival will ultimately work to promote the health and development benefits of gymnastics, as ‘the foundation sport’, to the Australian community.

Part of the four day event will be the staging of the biannual Australian Gym 4 Life Challenge. Presented by Gymnastics Australia, the programme will include display groups of all ages and abilities vying to be named the Gym 4 Life Champion Team.
